Background
Siobhan Selvaratnam, known as Mrs. S by some, is the foster mother of Madison Ashton, and later Madison's daughter, Michelle.
Siobhan is from London. At one point, she adopted Madison; took her from Los Angeles to England.
Mrs. S gave up a lot to raise her, and Madison has apparently never shown an ounce of respect or appreciation for her sacrifices. Their relationship is estranged, even more so after Madison left Michelle with her for almost a year. Mrs. S refused to give Madison custody of her own daughter.
Mrs S is a compassionate, intelligent but tough individual. She firmly puts the welfare of Michelle ahead of her own interests, and did the same for her foster child, who still grew up to be mostly an amoral and undisciplined adult. She is obviously protective of children in general, and has espoused left wing politics, gently ribbing Madison that although Madison inherited the love of Punk Rock from Mrs S, she did not inherit any of the political thinking.
